The Hostage State: How Both Legacy Parties Hold the USA Captive to Corruption

Omnibus bills, trillion-dollar scams, and the illusion of choice in a government that never votes on honesty or restraint.
You can’t dislike how politicians and bureaucrats have wrecked our economy and healthcare systems enough. But what’s worse is their ability to hold citizens hostage by refusing to separate trillion-dollar mega-bills into distinct votes.
Instead of passing the broadly supported measures and letting controversial programs stand or fall on their own, Congress buries everything together. They hide pork, corruption, and payoffs under the cover of “must-pass” legislation.
Who do Democrats Really Serve?

Take healthcare. Democrats refuse to allow a clean, stand-alone bill focused solely on actual healthcare or even segments thereof, debated openly and honestly. They know much of what they want couldn’t survive daylight, including:
Billions in health benefits for illegal immigrants, who themselves arrived deliberately subsidized and incentivized by Democrats during the Biden Admin to flood the border by the millions at taxpayer expense, of course.
Preventing Needed Restrictions on SNAP food benefits that would eliminate the sugary, carb-laden processed junk guaranteeing obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases that cost millions per patient over a lifetime -- but creating perfect, lifelong customers for Big Pharma and the regional health insurance and hospital network oligopolies that profit not from cures and lower premiums, but from expensive perpetual sickness.
Measures demanding basic accountability—diet, exercise, and personal responsibility --concepts treated as barbaric “victim-blaming” in the modern leftist nanny state, where the only “right” that matters is the right to live off the hard work and disciplined life-decisions of others who produce the wealth plundered for redistribution.
You’d be forgiven for thinking those fighting related reforms are owned outright by the same industries that thrive on national decline.
Yet in true Washington fashion, what can’t win on merit is buried in a thousand-page omnibus. Rather than being forced to debate these issues in public one by one, Democrats can once again hide behind the tired accusation, “You don’t want to help the poor and sick!” when what you really oppose is their corruption. Real voting record on those issues hidden in behind no-brainer subjects like “making sure Social Security is paid to beneficiaries”.
Republicans are no better
Sure, it’s interesting that some support the RJK Jr. efforts to address the mass chronic health calamity that’s drifted down-age to the point where 18-25% of youth 19 and under suffer obesity and 32.7% suffer pre-diabetes, while 18% already succumbed to full blow Type II (lifestyle / diet-induced) diabetes. But don’t sell them short. More are against RFK Jr. resolving these issues vs. not.

Meanwhile, a clear majority of Republicans are overwhelmingly no better on their own issues. They helped neuter DOGE and refuse to carve out popular, stand-alone funding items—ICE, border security, pay for rank-and-file military service members, or air-traffic control—that could be debated and passed on their own merits, with clear voting records to hold everyone accountable each election.
Instead, they lump these into bloated spending packages filled with corporate welfare, foreign aid, subsidies for Israel’s controversial actions in Gaza and the West Bank, and regime-change adventures in Iran and Venezuela.
This forces anyone who votes “no” to be smeared as opposing the potentially popular parts, without ever allowing real debate or item-by-item clarity on who supports or opposes each measure.
That’s exactly what happens to principled members like Thomas Massie, Congress’s most libertarian voice. When he votes against trillion-dollar spending bills, he’s accused of not wanting to fund the troops, or not supporting air-traffic control, or even opposing border security.
In reality, Massie wants the opposite: to fund essential services cleanly, without the corrupt baggage attached—and to have those votes debated openly, as every piece of legislation should be. He supports paying and caring for the troops—many of whom joined the military as their only way out of poverty—but refuses to feed an unaccountable, trillion-dollar war bureaucracy that wastes their sacrifices.
Even on issues he’d support in principle, he insists on serious debate about how to unwind the very government-engineered policies that create poverty, inflate military headcounts, and flood our borders with refugees from wars Washington itself started. His goal is clear: end the endless wars, end the subsidies that fuel immigration crises, and stop the perverse incentives that keep the cycle alive.
Yet, in the most rotten perversion of his own “America First” rhetoric, Trump and the Republican establishment endorse challengers against Massie—claiming he’s “against funding” what he plainly supports—when all he’s opposing is the sleight of hand that forces Americans to fund what they don’t want, burying future generations under $38 trillion in debt projected to reach $45 trillion even under Republican control if nothing changes.

Again, just like the Democrats—who do Republicans actually serve first? Israel? Big Banking? The Military-Industrial Complex? The Crony Energy Cartel eyeing Ukraine and Venezuelan resources?
Because it sure isn’t the American taxpayer.
In truth, both parties thrive on deceit by design. The holding of us all hostage to bloat and corruption is not a flaw. It is is the system. And when confronted by true liberty and America-first patriots – the LIBERTARIAN PARTY – both sides unify the same smears to protect their $ trillion pork grift that seem most successful at creating multimillionaire members of Congress while simultaneously enriching those using the revolving door between government positions and private sector contractors.
